Rollo Press initiated a bootleg version of the celebrated 'Xerox Book' by Seth Siegelaub. It is a perfect facsimile of the original, published in 1968 in an edition of 1000 copies. In 2010 Eastside Projects published only 100 copies, only available through swapping.
But there are still some copies left! So dive into your library and find a book that matches the following swap conditions as soon as possible.
1. books published in 1968 (the publication year of the original Xerox Book)
2. or books that feature one of the seven artists included in the Xerox Book: Carl Andre, Robert Barry, Douglas Huebler, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Robert Morris, Lawrence Weiner
One of the great things when you flip through the book is the transparent paper quality. You can tell the artists’ experiments were based on the sequential capabilities inherent to the copy paper.
I'm very curious about the list of 100 books Eastside Projects will end up with and how they will live on on as a part of the whole in the Eastside Projects library. It was not easy to choose, but I finally decided to trade my Sol LeWitt: Artist's Books, of which I made a complete copy before bringing it to the mailbox of course :)
