Photos from "Kodachrome" - Luigi Ghirri - 1978-2012

In 1978 Luigi Ghirri self-published his first book, an avant-garde manifesto for the medium of photography and a landmark in his own remarkable oeuvre. Kodachrome has long been out of print and on the 20th anniversary of Ghirri’s death, MACK published a second edition, a facsimile of the original.

In September an earthquake struck Balochistan province in southern Pakistan. A weird effect of the quake was the sudden appearance of a new island off the Gwadar coast, a mound of mud and bubbling methane seeps rising from the ocean surface.
